The New EU VAT Legislation - Theory and Business Reality - A practical perspective on the new European VAT Rules addressing complex implementation issues This presentation took place on February 25, 2010 at 10:30 AM Greenwich Mean Time. This live and interactive 60 minute webcast focused on the practical implementation issues arising for UK and EU businesses selling and receiving services across borders. We looked at how companies are coping with the new rules and what challenges they are presented with. We demonstrated how these challenges can be addressed and how other businesses have dealt with certain implementation issues. Participants were given the opportunity to ask questions and obtain a practical insight into the new rules in order to understand how to minimise risk and maximise VAT compliance. Practical implementation issues Case study Managing Risk Q&A Featured speaker: Jenny Nittmann Senior Manager – Meridian International VAT Consulting Jenny Nittmann is a Senior Manager with Meridian International VAT Consulting based in London. As a specialist in international VAT, Jenny has worked with some of the largest companies in the world, helping them to understand the VAT treatment of their cross-border transactions and to comply with their obligations throughout the 27 EU Member States and beyond. Over the course of the last year, she has advised numerous businesses on the implications of the 2010 VAT changes, providing them with practical assistance ranging from reviewing the VAT configuration of their accounting software to training their commercial, finance and accounting people to be able to deal with the new rules on a day-to-day basis. A regular contributor to professional publications, Jenny has also had articles on the 2010 VAT changes published in journals including the IBFD's International VAT Monitor.
